Here’s the latest SoCal Art Open Calls

  • Summary: “Inviting West Coast regional artists to submit traditional, innovative, functional and non-functional works of textile arts to this juried show. You may submit if you’re a West Coast artist & your original work of art was made recently.”

  • Deadline: 9/20/25

  • Location: Escondido Arts Partnership, Escondido

  • Exhibition Dates: 10/11/25 - 10/31/25

  • Mediums: Sculptural works, vessel forms/basketry, installations, clothing and more using materials such as papers, felting, fabrics, yarn and organic materials.

  • Entry Fee: EAP Member: $20 for one, additional $5 for each piece. Non-members: $30 for one, additional $5 for each piece

  • Summary: “Metro Art invites visual artists based in Los Angeles County to submit qualifications for opportunities to design two-dimensional (2D) artworks for future stations along the East San Fernando Valley (ESFV) Transit Project and the G Line Improvements Project, both serving the East San Fernando Valley. The contract awards are anticipated to range between $110,000 and $120,000, depending on the scope and scale of the artwork locations.”

  • Deadline: 9/22/25

  • Location: East San Fernando Valley and G Line Stations

  • Mediums: Two-dimensional (2D) artworks

  • Entry Fee: No fee

  • Summary: “It’s Fall. Summer sighs its last golden breath; the trees dance in the brave wind and drop their golden, fiery leaves. Pull out the oxides! What do you love about fall? The colors, the harvest moon, pumpkins on the porch, back to school supplies, the flowers of fall, Halloween, Day of the Dead? Show us the love!”

  • Deadline: 9/26/25

  • Location: Art on 30th, San Diego

  • Exhibition Dates: 10/4/25 - 10/31/25

  • Mediums: All 2D artworks are welcome as well as any 3D artwork (glass/ceramic sculpture) that fits on a pedestal.

  • Entry Fee: $35 for up to 2 pieces, $45 for up to 4 pieces

  • Summary: “We're seeking high-quality artwork that interprets "Rocktober" through your unique artistic lens and experiences. What does rock mean to you? Whether it's the raw power of rock music, the solid strength of geological formations, the rebellious spirit of rock culture, vintage concert posters, abstract interpretations of sound and rhythm, or an entirely personal take on what "rocks" in your world - we want to see your creative vision.”

  • Deadline: 9/28/25

  • Location: Gallery of Hermosa, Hermosa Beach

  • Exhibition Dates: 10/18/25 - 11/9/25

  • Mediums: “We welcome 2D works in all mediums and smaller 3D sculptures.”

  • Entry Fee: $30

  • Summary: “This wild and inspiring show will celebrate its 36th consecutive year in 2025. Artwork of all types of wildlife is accepted. Awards of more than $2500 in cash and prizes are presented at an amazing Reception.”

  • Deadline: 10/15/25

  • Location: Foothills Fine Art Gallery, La Mesa

  • Exhibition Dates: 10/27/25 - 12/3/25

  • Mediums: Oil, acrylic, pastel. watercolor. scratchboard, graphics (etchings, wood, and lineblock prints), serigraphs, pencil, pen & ink and mixed media and non-functional sculpture.

  • Entry Fee: $40
