Summary: “What happens when something quiet interrupts the ordinary? Quiet Interruption invites artists to consider the subtle moments that shift our attention—a pause, a shadow, a small disturbance, an unexpected encounter, or something almost overlooked. We are seeking artwork that creates a moment of reflection, curiosity, discovery, or surprise. The work may be intimate or monumental, permanent or temporary, material or ephemeral. We welcome approaches that engage with space, light, sound, movement, nature, memory, absence, or the everyday. Rather than demanding attention, Quiet Interruption asks: What if art could gently interrupt the way we see, hear, move through, or experience a place?”
Deadline: 8/29/26
Location: Woodward Contemporary, San Diego
Exhibition Dates: 9/10/26 - 10/10/26
Mediums: All except digital art, workshop/class art, or reproductions
Entry Fee: $40
Summary: “Presence & Place is a juried exhibition exploring the relationship between contemporary art, architecture, and interior design. Presented throughout the beautifully designed interiors of Unscripted Spaces in the heart of La Jolla Village, the exhibition invites visitors to experience original artwork in conversation with light, scale, material, and space. Rather than complementing décor, selected works will stand as compelling artistic statements that transform how a room is experienced and remembered. Throughout the six-month exhibition, participating artists will have the opportunity to present their work to collectors, interior designers, architects, and design professionals seeking original artwork for residential and commercial spaces.”
*Applicants must reside in San Diego county
Deadline: 8/31/26
Location: Unscripted Spaces, La Jolla
