Here’s the latest SoCal Art Open Calls

  • Summary: “The Burbank Arts Beautification Program is dedicated to exhibiting visual art outside the constraints of museums and galleries. To that end, we have identified six (6) utility boxes that will be painted with original art inspired by the theme of: “Back To Our Future”. Six (6) gifted artists will be selected through a competitive process. Artists will receive a stipend of $1250.”

  • Deadline: (Extended) 6/27/25

  • Location: Verdugo Ave, Burbank

  • Mediums: Painting

  • Entry Fee: No fee

  • Summary: “The Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture’s Civic Art Division invites artists to submit qualifications for an artwork commission at Phase 5 of the Restorative Care Village (RCV5), located at the LA General Medical Center in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. The artwork will be a large exterior mural made of digitally printed aluminum panels. This fabrication method allows artists who work in any two-dimensional medium to apply to this Call.”

  • Deadline: 7/8/25

  • Location: LA General Medical Center, Boyle Heights, Los Angeles

  • Mediums: 2-dimensional art

  • Entry Fee: No fee

  • Summary: “We’ve all been to a potluck...we bring our favorite dish or the dish people compliment us on. So enter a piece of your art that you are proud of or that you have received positive feedback on. Show us your delicious art!​”

  • Deadline: 7/18/25

  • Location: Ashton Gallery, Art on 30th, San Diego

  • Exhibition Dates: 7/26/25 - 8/22/25

  • Mediums: All 2-dimensional art welcome and any 3-dimensional artwork (glass/ceramic sculpture) that fits on a pedestal. Photography, fabric, and journal pages are also welcomed if prepared for hanging. 

  • Entry Fee: $35 for up to 2 pieces, $45 for up to 4 pieces

  • Summary: “We’re on the hunt for bold, funky, fresh artwork for our upcoming exhibition Prime Time—and we want YOU to be a part of it. Any style, any medium—just bring the originality and let your work shine.”

  • Deadline: 8/3/25

  • Location: Covet Art Gallery, Oceanside

  • Exhibition Date: 8/23/25 - 9/13/25

  • Mediums: All

  • Entry Fee: $5

  • Summary: “This open-themed exhibition at ACE Gallery encourages artists to release expectations, defy boundaries, and dive fully into the joy of making. Whether you’re working in your signature style, exploring a new medium, or venturing into uncharted creative territory, we want to see what lights you up!”

  • Location: Studio ACE, Oceanside

  • Exhibition Dates: 9/15/25 - 10/24/25
