Calls For Art 6/14/26
Hi everyone!
This week’s newsletter looks a little different. My main goal with this newsletter has always been to prioritize quality over quantity. Rather than including every open call I come across, I try to only focus on exhibition opportunities that are local, in person, and hosted by organizations that have a positive reputation. This week, I felt that I did not have enough exhibition opportunities to provide the complete newsletter that you usually receive. So this week, I’m providing you something a little different. Below are several funding and paid artist opportunities from the SoCal Art Opportunities premium section that are currently open to Southern California artists. I hope these opportunities provide value while you wait for the next round of open calls!

The selected artist will work with community and library partners to develop a series of collective memory and artmaking workshops for Altadena residents and others impacted by the January 2025 fires that provide space for creative expression and storytelling and that foster healing and strengthen community bonds.”

San Diego Artist Incubator
“The San Diego Artist Incubator (SDAI) is a countywide professional development and presentation program for artists living in San Diego County. SDAI Round 2 is designed for artists who have completed work, or a developed body of work, that is ready to be shared with the public through a presentation, exhibition, performance, installation, activation, or other public-facing format. Selected artists will participate in a small cohort experience, receive a $5,000 stipend, and work toward public-facing presentation opportunities with program partners during the fellowship period.”

The People’s Storefront: Temporary Public Art
“The People ‘s Storefront” is a paid opportunity that invites artists to showcase their original works of art on glass storefronts along the historic Euclid Avenue corridor. The Downtown Ontario Improvement Association (DOIA), with support from the City of Ontario’s Museum, Arts & Culture Department, seeks to select up to four artists or artist teams to create site-specific vinyl installations for local businesses in Downtown Ontario’s cultural core. Selected artists will transform storefronts into vibrant temporary public art displays that highlight local talent, activate the streetscape, and draw visitors to downtown businesses. Each artist selected will be paid $3,500 for use of their artwork and participation.”
Deadline: 6/30/26
Dana Point Nature Interpretive Center Mural
