Summary: “This is a call to Southern California and Baja-based artists to submit entries for Changing Terrain, a joint contemporary landscape exhibition exploring new interpretations of Southern California/Baja landscapes by artists based in the region. The exhibition will present a region in flux, reflecting its changing environment, communities, history, and evolving sense of place. This exhibition will take place concurrently at San Diego History Center (SDHC) and Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA).”

Summary: What will America mean in 2126? How will people live, relate, govern, create, remember, and care for one another? What new myths, systems, landscapes, and identities will define the country’s next century? We welcome immersive, interdisciplinary art that speculate broadly on possible futures — technological, ecological, political, spiritual, cultural, and beyond. Please note, you must be based in California for this open call.”

Think retro dreamscapes, motel signs, lipstick stains, loud patterns, soft rebellion, roller skates, chrome, cigarettes, sweetness with bite — or anything that captures the spirit of the title.”
