How Can I Gift a Premium Subscription?
Head to the upgrade page at https://socal-art.beehiiv.com/upgrade and click the “Gift” button. You will have the option of gifting a one month subscription for $5 or a full year subscription for the discounted price of $45 (savings of 25%). You can also include a personalized message to be sent to the recipient via email to notify them of their gift!

Epoch Expressions

Summary: “This is not your normal gallery space. Show your big, bold and beautiful art in this block-long exhibit space on Ventura Blvd that the public comes to do their banking and business throughout the week.”

Exhibition Dates: 1/19/26 - 2/27/26

Entry Fee: “This is a California Creative Arts hosted show. Members receive priority. If you are not a member, you can join here. We are a nonprofit. Your membership fee is tax deductible, and you keep 100% of your sales. No fee to apply. Non-members, if accepted, must become a member or pay a one-time participation fee of $40 (it’s only $10 more for a one-year membership).”

Playtime: Happy Gilmore, Golf & Putt-Putt

Summary: “The Los Angeles Makery invites artists of all disciplines to submit work for our February 2026 exhibition celebrating the chaotic joy, humor, and spirit of Happy Gilmore, golf culture, and miniature golf. We’re seeking painting, sculpture, photography, installation, video, mixed media, and interactive works that play with themes of sportsmanship, competition, comedy, and the absurd. Whether you’re channeling peak Adam Sandler energy, reimagining classic golf iconography, or crafting a surreal putt-putt experience — we want to see it.”

Legacy in Color: Celebrating Black History Through Art

Summary: “Presented by the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, curated by Guest Artist Marshall Toomey (Toomey will also have work in the show). The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center proudly invites Black artists to submit up to five (5) two-dimensional artworks for inclusion in our 2026 Black History Month exhibition, Legacy in Color: Celebrating Black History Through Art. This exhibition honors the richness, resilience, and creativity of Black culture—past, present, and future—through visual storytelling and artistic expression.”

Psyops and Photo Ops

Summary: “We are interested in photo-montages, vintage/antique and unique developing processes, photographs of interesting cultures (respectful images), photographs of bizarre and otherworldly subjects, photographs of incredible or extreme events and applications of photography in places where it doesn’t belong. If this is confusing… look at what we have exhibited previously to give yourself an idea of the aesthetics our curators like.”

Whittier Cultural Arts Commission 2026–2027 Visual Arts Program
